Corrin is an affable, charismatic and merciful person who is quick to place his trust in others. His curious deposition and his naivety is a result of being sheltered within the walls of the Northern Fortress. Despite being raised in isolation, Corrin is quite social and conversational. He is persuasive to the point of it being mysteriously profound. As though his strong convictions are infectious. This is best demonstrated when convincing enemies to join his cause. Since he spent the majority of his time growing up in the Fortress, Corrin developed a strong interest in the outside world, and is always eager to come across new sights. Corrin is often nosy about the members of his army and desires to make friends with his allies, even if they attempt to push him away. Corrin is also kindhearted and generous and will come to the aid of anyone who should ask him for it. He is also known for rapid-fire apologies if he inadvertently does something to upset others.
Corrin is eager to believe and trust in others, even when he is advised not to, likely due to him growing up with no experience of the outside world. While both Ryoma and Xander have stated that this could be a fatal trait, they have conceded that this unwavering sense of trust makes him more trustworthy, leading to many members of both armies to place their faith in Corrin's cause and leadership. Ryoma has stated that this has been his main trait since he was young, having an honest and compassionate mindset and, in his mind, makes Corrin worthy of being a ruler. While Corrin’s charisma makes him an excellent leader in skirmishes (he is good at discerning an immediate opponent's strengths and weaknesses), he lacks the vision to handle large-scale battles. This makes Corrin upset at his inability to command large forces, leading him to feel ashamed of his inexperience and feel unworthy of leading altogether. In his mind he isn't as strong and wise as he should be and claims envy for those with strategic minds like his brother Leo. Corrin is often regarded as the one with the most hidden potential on account of his quick thinking and creativity on the battlefield.
Corrin harbors strong familial attachments to both the Nohrian and Hoshidan royal siblings. He is reluctant and unwilling to fight against either family whenever he is forced to face them. This also leads him to be extremely forgiving and will always seek to end a battle against them and their forces with as little casualties as possible. He will always spare his siblings no matter what they’ve done against him. When the time of war comes Corrin refuses to pick a side. To him the thought of both families fighting each other is painful and unnecessary. He operates under the hope that one day, the two families will see eye to eye and become friends. Lastly, Azura becomes Corrin's closest ally in the army as they share the same circumstances of their lives, almost becoming akin to siblings. Corrin is very strong-willed in the path he chose and never joins the opposing side even if one of his siblings or allies tries to persuade him.
According to Gunter Corrin was much quieter and shy in his childhood, only becoming more outspoken once Gunter showed him kindness by acting as a father figure to him while at the Northern Fortress. Even so, Corrin hopes to get better at empathizing with people and aims to spend lots of time with everyone. Due to Xander's constant visits to the Fortress, Corrin holds a particularly strong bond with him, who was not only Corrin's main sparring partner, but the person he admired and wished to surpass in combat. Outside of the battlefield the young man acts more laidback and has a tendency to be sweet in his interactions with others.
Due to the circumstances of the war between Nohr and Hoshido Corrin’s personality has developed into being more paranoid and unhinged especially after the death of multiple loved ones. Other extreme traits such as obsession and possession have manifested after the loss of his dragonstone. Without the stone and his closest ally Azura, his temperament has become unpredictable. Stress and anxiety are now a constant as he worries that any bout of rage or hatred will trigger an involuntary transformation as a full feral dragon. With his draconic blood now left uncheck he’s vulnerable to other dragon related tendencies.
Corrin was born into Hoshido royalty as a child of King Sumeragi and Queen Mikoto. Like his other siblings he was cherished and beloved by his family and all the kingdom. At this time Hoshido was in dispute with the neighboring nation of Nohr. Despite conflict between Hoshido and Nohr, the Nohrian King, Garon, wanted to parley with Sumeragi. He suggested to the Hoshido King to bring his eldest son Ryoma and in turn he would bring his own eldest, Xander. Unfortunately Ryoma fell ill just before the peace conference. Not wanting to insult Garon, Sumeragi decided to bring a then five-year-old Corrin. Unfortunately the parley was a trap and Sumeragi was killed defending Corrin. Corrin was then kidnapped by Garon and raised in Nohr as a member of their royal family. Due to a curse placed on him, Corrin lost his memory of his father’s death and all memories of his life prior to the tragedy. He was fed a lie that he was an unwanted child who was found abandoned then taken in by Garon who promised to tell the Kingdom of Nohr that he was his own flesh and blood. Corrin was then confined to the Northern Fortress and forbidden to leave until Garon deemed him worthy.
For twelve years, Corrin was raised in the Northern Fortress. He was accompanied by his retainers and servants: Flora, Felicia, and Jakob. Gunter, a veteran soldier, was also hired to serve as Corrin's combat instructor and the two became close. Corrin often looked up to Gunther as a father figure in the absence of Garon who never visited but did write short letters. The Nohrian Royal Siblings would also pay frequent visits to the castle with Xander in particular serving as Corrin's main sparring partner. One day, a young boy named Silas paid a visit to the Fortress. He and Corrin quickly became friends. However, their time together was cut short when Silas attempted to smuggle Corrin out of the fortress to take him on a picnic. Silas was caught and then forbidden from returning, this made Corrin cry every day until their retainers sought to take his mind off Silas, leading Corrin to forget him. The little prince also found an injured bird one day and nursed it back to health. Unbeknownst to him, this "bird" would become a very important person in his life. Lilith not long after was introduced as a stable hand to the prince. The two of them grew close.
At the age of ten Corrin was provided a letter handed to him by his retainer and maid Flora. Flora, with her own history of being kidnapped alongside her sister, came upon a boy who claimed to serve the Hoshido royal family. The letter was written by Corrin’s mother. Flora, harboring sympathy, agreed to hand off the letter. Obtaining the letter Corrin learned of his biological family along with Flora’s secret (Felicia being completely unaware of their circumstances). With this new kinship between himself, Flora and the mysterious messenger, Corrin began to exchange letters with the family that supposedly abandoned him. Information regarding his father’s fate and his kidnapping was completely ignored by the boy insisting that Garon, as his father, would never commit such evil. Not wanting to break the only connection she has with her son, Mikoto reframed from pursuing the matter and told her children to do the same. For years Corrin secretly exchanged letters with his Royal Hoshido siblings, getting to know them through their words and leaving him to imagine what they were like in real life. This also became a main motivator for him to train hard and finally be deemed worthy in Garon’s eyes. He wanted to meet them for himself. In all this time he never confronted his Nohr siblings about his ‘kidnapping’. Despite knowing they didn’t share the same blood, he knew them to be his family and in his heart saw himself as a Nohrian like them.
***
One day, Corrin (now seventeen) receives a premonition of a battle between Hoshido and Nohr in a dream, but he is awoken by Flora, Jakob, and Felicia. Before Corrin can properly tell them about his dream, he is summoned by Xander for another combat test, where he finally succeeds in impressing Garon enough (viewed via magic) to allow him to finally leave the Fortress. Garon immediately summons Corrin to Castle Krakenburg in Windmire, Nohr’s capital, and gives his son a sword known as the Ganglari as a present for succeeding in demonstrating his worth. To test Corrin's loyalty, he orders him to execute some recently captured Hoshidan soldiers. Among them are Kaze and Rinkah, both of whom Corrin ultimately chooses to spare after defeating them in combat. He argues he could never just mercilessly kill others in cold blood even if they’re the enemy. Not only does it go against his morals but it goes against the empathy he secretly developed for Hoshidans through communication of his other siblings. Though Garon demands that they still be executed, Corrin continues to refuse. Relenting to his son’s adamant refusal he orders Leo to step in and execute them. Corrin desperately begs Leo not to but his younger brother follows through with the order without hesitation. Corrin is left devastated. Garon then pulls him aside and explains to him that this is the reality of being a kingdom at war. Sparing the enemy will result in deadly consequences. He excuses Corrin’s disobedience as his naivety for being sheltered for so long. While Garon expresses love for his son, reminding him that he took him as his own, he firmly tells the boy that a true Nohrian kills in the name of his king and kingdom.
After being dismissed, Corrin expresses his anger toward Leo only for his brother to lead him to another part of the castle where Kaze and Rinkah are revealed to be unharmed (the young prince having pretended to kill them). With them is Xander who oversees Leo telling the pair that out of respect for his brother’s choice to spare them he’ll let them go. Corrin sees them off but not before Rinkah learns his name and Kaze expresses a strange sense of familiarity.
Wanting to give Corrin an opportunity to gain proper experience and redeem himself, Garon tasks him with dispatching Hoshidan forces occupying a fortress situated at the Bottomless Canyon. As to not send him ‘defenseless' he orders a soldier named Hans to accompany him along with Gunter. Xander warns Corrin to be careful around Hans, admitting he had once arrested him for crimes that included murder. At the Canyon, Corrin sees the occupied fortress and orders the men to proceed with capturing the fortress without causality. Hans however brazenly engages the Hoshidan soldiers, killing the first ones to intercept. Corrin is in disbelief and demands to know why Hans would do such a thing. The man responds by reiterating Garon’s message that this is what it means to be at war with the enemy. Corrin is left with no choice but to proceed though he sticks to defeating enemies rather than killing them. After the initial battle, the Nohrian siblings, worried for Corrin, check on him to find their brother and the others engaged with the Hoshidan reinforcements.
Deciding Corrin has done enough Xander orders his brother and his party back to the castle saying they won’t be long in returning with him. Reluctantly Corrin does as he’s told. On the way Hans betrays the prince and attacks Gunter, plunging the veteran soldier into the canyon. Enraged like never before, Corrin's arm shifts into a dragon appendage and attacks Hans, greatly mortifying them both. He is reckless in his onslaught, blinded by fury and sorrow. Just before he delivers the killing blow Hans lets slip he was only following Garon’s orders. The unexpected news throws off Corrin, making him miss and strike a weak part of the bridge that causes him to fall through and plummet down into the canyon. Lilith suddenly appears and dives after him. Transforming into a Dragon herself, Lilith teleports Corrin into the Astral Realm. In this realm Lilith tells Corrin the truth of her real form and informs him of the mysterious nature of the Astral Realm (while also saying she has exhausted her power and can no longer take up a human form). Without saying too much she tells Corrin that she acted on Mikoto’s behalf to watch over him though she is not the messenger that helped exchange the letters. She expresses to the prince that from now he is feely able to use the space however he pleases. Corrin spends some time mourning Gunter’s death and contemplating whether or not Hans told the truth and if he did wonder why his father would issue such a diabolical order.
In time he feels ready to return to the world. Upon returning to where he last was he finds the fortress abandoned. In a moment of spontaneity he decides that rather than return to Nohr he’ll make his way to Hoshido to finally meet his other family. Traveling on his own in Hoshido territory he is immediately ambushed by the Flame Tribe and captured. Corrin is told he’ll be executed before being knocked out. When he wakes he finds himself in Rinkah’s company. Although she wants nothing more than to follow through with the wishes of her people she informs Corrin of her decision to spare him, making them equal for his earlier mercy. However she cannot betray her Kingdom thus informing the Royal Family of Corrin’s presence as to let them decide what must be done with the Nohrian prince. It’s not long until Kaze arrives to take Corrin to the capital. Corrin complies and follows Kaze. On the way Corrin explains that he is possibly not of Nohrian blood but instead Hoshidan; Kaze reveals that he knows this. Corrin is caught off guard but Kaze confesses to being the mysterious messenger delivering the letters from his siblings to Flora to give to him. For years he always wondered what the kidnapped prince was like and was relieved to know he is as kindhearted and as noble as revealed in his letters to the Royal family.
Escorted by Kaze back to Castle Shirasagi, Corrin finally meets Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi and Sakura, the Hoshidan Royal Children. They welcome Corrin with open arms, happy to reunite with their long lost sibling. Among them is his mother, Mikoto. Overjoyed to be reunited with her child, she embraces Corrin. Despite Corrin's earlier childhood being forgotten, he accepts her embrace. Taking in the Queen’s warmth there is no question that she is indeed his mother.
For the next three years Corrin remains in Hoshido in secret. It was decided that Corrin’s identity wouldn’t be disclosed outside the royal family. Considering Corrin was isolated and hidden away most of his life no one in Nohr or Hoshido knew he was a Nohrian prince. This decision was also made as to not further provoke Nohr should they learn of Corrin taking refuge in Hoshido. Admittedly Corrin wanted to tell his Nohrian siblings that he was okay however his Hoshido siblings convinced him to refrain. For years the enemy had him to themselves; locked away as captive more than a royal prince. Now it was their time to get to know their beloved brother beyond ink on parchment. Not to mention by blood he rightfully belonged to them in the first place. Strangely there was no news of the Nohrian’s prince's death or disappearance. Corrin kept this information in the back of his mind. This bit of news always having disturbed him. In this time of reconnecting with his biological siblings Corrin meets a blue-haired girl who introduces herself as Azura, a Nohrian princess who was kidnapped and raised in Hoshido in an inverse situation to Corrin. Learning this he develops a close bond with her. In all this time the topic of his father’s death and his kidnapping remain untouched. Any attempt on the subject always led Corrin to shut down and pull away. In his denial he still had naive hope in Garon that somehow it was all a misunderstanding. Despite the years spent with his family the childhood memories of his past do not surface. During his stay he aids in defending the borders of Hoshido from the Faceless sent there since a magical barrier upheld by Mikoto eliminates one’s will to fight after crossing it. Something the undead such as the Faceless are immune to. This helps Corrin’s confidence as a warrior and further helps him connect himself as Hoshidan.
At the age of twenty Corrin decides to come out of hiding and tell the truth of his birthright to both kingdoms. While Corrin still feels Nohrian at heart, he expresses his belief that he can achieve the same feeling for Hoshido and desires to fully commit himself to his homeland by being a prince that can finally bridge peace between the two warring nations. Having fate in her son Mikoto agrees and makes the announcement to her people. In celebration of Corrin’s return to his birthright the queen decides to host a three day celebration in the capital where on the final day Corrin will formally be crowned as the second prince. Corrin extends a formal invitation to his Nohrian family to visit and hopefully begin the first steps of negotiation to peace. Corrin and his Hoshidan family enjoy the festivities however with each passing day without Nohr’s response Corrin grows weary. On the final day Mikoto gathers the Hoshidan people at the castle town. Situated in the town square is a sword in stone- the legendary Yato blade awaiting for its chosen to pull it free. Here Mikoto introduces Corrin to her people and invites him to try and pull the sword free. Humored by the opportunity Corrin approaches the blade. He doesn’t expect anything to happen so when he gives the sword a gentle pull he’s taken aback when it's finally pulled free. At that moment the magical properties of the sword tamper with Corrin’s curse and break it. At once he’s flooded with the memory of his father’s horrible death and the image of Garon forcefully taking him for himself. The intense grief and agony sets him off to the extreme forcing him to transform completely into a raging feral dragon.
Corrin begins a rampage that results in him firing devastating water torrents in all directions destroying everything around him. Ryoma has his siblings take cover and protect the people while he and his Mother attempt to calm Corrin. Corrin fatally strikes at Ryoma only for Mikoto to take the hit to protect her eldest. Ryoma holds his dying mother; her final words are pleading for him and his siblings to forgive their brother and believe in his good heart. Azura breaks away from her siblings and steps in. With a special song she attempts to calm Corrin. It’s a struggle with Corrin nearly killing his sister but in a plea to have him kill her as himself Corrin finally reverts back into being a human. Back to his senses he’s forced to confront the death and destruction caused by his rampage. It’s at this moment soldiers that were patrolling the border give the news that an immense horde of Faceless on a scale never seen before managed to break past the Kingdom outskirts and overtake multiple villages and towns at once. The surviving people lay blame on Corrin, claiming him as a double agent for Nohr and demanding his immediate death. Reeling from everything, Ryoma orders Azura, Takumi and Sakura to take Corrin back to the castle while he and Hinoka handle the Faceless invasion.
Hoshido is left in shambles after the tragedy. Corrin locks himself away, unable to face his siblings. On the third day all of his siblings gather to confront Corrin. The prince explains what happened and as much as Takumi wants to lay blame on Corrin, Ryoma assures his family that their brother is innocent and that Garon and his Nohrian forces are responsible for setting everything in motion the day Garon chose to kill their father and kidnap Corrin. He admits that ever since that day he wished it was him that was taken and not Corrin. He also expresses their mother’s final message and reminds them that ultimately the Yato blade chose him. Its legend had specified that it was meant to be wielded by a hero who would use its power to end a great war. Corrin must be that hero.
With the death of Mikoto, the barrier that once prevented hostile attacks from Nohr disappeared. With days to prepare and with the knowledge that the Faceless had further weakened Hoshidan defenses, Nohrian forces, led by the Nohrian Royal Siblings, head out to the Plains of Hoshido. There they are intercepted by the Hoshidan army, led by the Hoshidan Royal Siblings. Corrin realizes that his dream from three years ago has finally come true and now, their siblings from both families are about to cross blades. Both families call out to Corrin, leaving him with a huge decision to make: return to their Nohrian siblings on their conquest in Hoshido, join the Hoshidan siblings to repel the Nohrian forces, or find another path by siding with neither.
Corrin chooses not to side with Ryoma. Xander commends them, but he says he is not siding with Xander either. Corrin confesses he cannot choose between them as he doesn’t want to betray either side of the family. He pleads with both to put their weapons down and find a solution together. Xander and Ryoma ignore Corrin's words and move to engage with each other. A battle begins with Corrin overlooking the siblings' fight. Azura remains with him, as their servants Jakob and Felicia rush to join his side, relieved to know he has been alive all these years. Wanting to catch his brothers’ attention, Corrin, Azura, and his servants decide to take down the forward commanders of both armies, ultimately succeeding. Unfortunately, both Xander and Ryoma view Corrin's actions as a deliberate act of betrayal. Corrin, Azura, and his servants are labeled as traitors to be arrested/killed on sight. Unable to convince either army to listen, Azura pulls Corrin away from the battlefield into a nearby forest.
Needing a safe place to talk, Lilith then takes Corrin to his special castle so he can discuss with Azura what his plan of action is. At first, Azura thinks Corrin must choose a side to avoid terrible outcomes, however Corrin disagrees, saying there must be another way to get both families and armies to stop fighting. With that, Azura says she has something important to tell him but that they will need to go to the Bottomless Canyon before she can reveal it. Corrin agrees to follow her, having no other options. Arriving there she tells him to jump down with her into it. After jumping in, they arrive in an unknown land that Azura introduces as Valla, a mysterious third kingdom that has been orchestrating the war between Nohr and Hoshido following its takeover by Anankos. To ensure that no one can know of this, a curse was placed so that anyone who discusses Valla outside of the kingdom will be killed. Anankos’s ultimate goal is to annihilate all of humanity. With the true villain of the war now made aware to Corrin, he decides to return to the surface in hopes of combining the Nohrian and Hoshidan armies in order to combat this threat.
Upon returning to the surface, Corrin begins the long task of obtaining the trust of both the Hoshidan and Nohrian royal siblings, slowly starting from the youngest to the oldest members but not without tragedy following his choices. He first starts with Fort Jinya where he encounters Yukimura who orders Corrin to be arrested after he fails to convince him of a greater evil at play. Already there are rumors of Corrin wanting to destroy both kingdoms. Blame is put on him for the disappearance of Ryoma and for Takumi’s capture. Corrin successfully fights his way through without causality. Once again he pleads to Yukimura for his aid but the man remains resistant when Corrin is bound by silence to the supposed “true enemy”. At that moment Sakura steps in and lends her support to Corrin along with her retainers. The young princess chooses to believe her brother. Saizo comes in with the intention to kill Corrin via self-explosion. He grabs him and just before he can set off the bomb Kaze intercepts, killing Saizo. Corrin is grief-stricken and blames himself, however Kaze affirms he had no other choice but to kill his brother to protect the prince and princess who also could’ve been greatly injured.
Understanding the path will only get darker from here Corrin and company continue to move on until getting a clue on the Seal of Flames and proceed to Izumo to meet with Archduke Izana to learn more about it. Upon meeting him Azura reveals the man to be an imposter, a Nohrian mage named Zola. A battle commences that ends with recapturing the palace and Zola being cornered with no escape. Zola takes Sakura as hostage trying to bargain for his freedom. Corrin urges him to do the ‘honorable’ thing and give up however he refuses, choosing to do whatever it takes to win. This translates to gravely injuring Sakura before everyone’s eyes. Corrin transforms into his dragon form and viciously kills Zola in a blind rage. Azura steps in to calm Corrin but is overpowered. Leo arrives in time to save Azura and subdues Corrin long enough for her to calm him. Corrin, back as a human, is heartbroken. Asking why Leo is there the Nohrian Prince said Zola had ordered reinforcements however after watching everything unfold he decides against killing Corrin and his group. Corrin pleads with him to help Sakura. Leo makes an attempt but proves useless in the art of healing. Takumi and the real Izana are found and freed. Takumi rushes over to his youngest sister. Sakura tells Corrin it’s not his fault and she pleads with Takumi to join him in seeking out peace. She dies in Takumi’s arms. Takumi is furious but decides to honor his sister’s final wish and reluctantly joins Corrin’s cause. Leo is begged to join but he refuses. While sorry for Corrin’s loss, not only had he faked his death and he left his Nohrian Family to mourn, he then returned ‘from the dead’ to join as a Hoshidan royal. He could have forgiven it if he had sided with Nohr but Corrin’s refusal was the final straw. No longer considering him as his brother Leo leaves. With the Seal of Flames still in question, the real Izana consults the gods in a ritual. In exchange for divine knowledge, Izana gives his life after offering the phrase: “Go meet the dragon.”
Corrin’s campaign soon guides them to find anyone who may know about a dragon. Though with each passing day Corrin grows anxious for his chosen path. Eventually the group finds out about Ryoma’s destination to Cheve where he’s to battle Nohrian forces alongside rebel forces. The group travels to a nearby port town to catch a ferry to Cheve. Before boarding, Elise, along with her retainers, arrive in order to join having turned their back on Nohr without telling the others. They all board the ferry and sail off.
On the way the group encounters Flora (who froze the sea) and Camilla on orders from Garon to kill them. Corrin attempts to reason with his sister and his maid but the duo remain faithful to their King’s orders. Flora more so for the safety of the Ice Tribe and Camilla for fear of her father and to take away Corrin’s grief. Corrin’s group wins and he makes another attempt to persuade the two, Elise now helping him. Flora refuses, instead deciding to return to the Ice Tribe to protect her people. Camilla on the other hand seemingly decides to join Corrin. Asking for a hug from her brother Corrin happily moves in. In the last second everyone sees Camilla make a move to kill him. Without thinking Flora uses her magic to throw Camilla overboard. The eldest princess breaks through the ice and falls into the icy waters. Nobody is able to save her. Elise is horrified along with Corrin. Flora begs forgiveness. Undoubtedly if news returns Garon that she killed Camilla then he’ll surely slaughter the Ice Tribe. Flora decides to take her life in hopes of rectifying her crime. Felicia, Corrin, and Jakob plead for her to reconsider but Flora’s mind is set. Her final wish is for both Corrin and Felicia to protect the Ice Tribe. She jumps in killing herself. Reeling from the losses Felicia decides to return to the Ice Tribe to fulfill her sister’s wish. Elise pushes forward with supporting Corrin. The two of them mourning Camilla’s and Flora’s deaths.
Onward they arrive at a destroyed Cyrkensia, a neutral city in Nohr. Corrin meets Kaden and Keaton who inform them that without reason the town began to fall apart and not far from them Nohr and Hoshido armies are engaging in combat. Corrin and company arrive to see Ryoma and Xander lead their forces in combat thinking the other side is responsible for the city's destruction. Both Corrin and Azura denote that the invisible forces of Valla are the true culprit. Before calming both sides they first defeat the invisible enemy. When that’s over Corrin makes his case for peace to his brothers. Already so many people on both sides have died, including their siblings. Still Ryoma and Xander are set to kill each other. Only Azura’s song is able to pacify them. However the toll the spell takes on her body is evident. Corrin tells them that something darker is at play and the only way to defeat it, and make the deaths of everyone not be in vain, is to join forces. Unfortunately neither believe him, Xander especially reinforcing the idea that he is a traitor. Corrin at least tells them that if they really want the truth they must meet him at the Bottomless Canyon before the skies of Hoshido and Nohr switch. Just before Xander departs Corrin asks him about ‘the dragon’. Xander refuses to give an answer and leaves. Corrin returns to Ryoma who has conversed with Takumi and Kaze. On account of Sakura’s last wish he decides to believe Corrin but not yet join him, first needing to reunite with Hinoka and deliver the tragic news so that she may decide whether or not to join her brother. Corrin understands and asks if Ryoma knows anything about a dragon. He doesn’t but suggests meeting with the Rainbow Sage who may hold the answers. The group then seeks out the finicky Rainbow Sage.
After finding the Sage’s location and proving their worth in a secret test the Rainbow Sage meets with Corrin and his royal siblings. He tells them the history of the warring dragons of the past and reveals himself to be one of those dragons in a mortal guise. With the last of his power he blesses Corrin’s Yato, transforming it into Alpha Yato. Regrettably this costs him his life and Corrin vows to see his mission through to the end. Suffering so much guilt and agony he finds himself relying on Azura more and more. Her presence proved to be his greatest source of comfort. With his siblings he makes sure to give them as much of his time as possible. He constantly worries about losing them.
On the day of the skies switching, Corrin and his friends gather at the Bottomless Canyon. There they engage in combat with Norhian forces led by Iago thinking Xander betrayed them. In the battle Ryoma and Hinoka join the group to honor their fallen sister and fight for Corrin’s mission of peace. Not long after Xander and Leo join the fray. The death of Camilla and their father’s growing insanity are the main motivators to their betrayal of their father. Together they put down the opposing forces. Upon victory both families gather together. Accepting that the war has taken too much from them, Xander and Ryoma agree to work together and fight alongside Corrin against whatever threat he’s been warning them about all this time.
Without warning the sky is consumed by a terrifying Darkness. The world shakes violently and the canyon starts to collapse altogether. Thinking it’s Anankos at work Corrin orders everyone to jump down into the canyon to avoid the Void overtaking the land. Azura is brutally tossed down into the canyon and Corrin frantically follows in after her. From around him he hears everyone screaming, including Azura. He takes out his dragonstone with the intention to transform and find her but chucks of the canyon falling apart strike him making him drop the stone. He’s momentarily knocked out until hearing Azura scream his name. He wakes, still falling, and sees her again. Corrin desperately reaches for her and Azura reaches for him. While diving, Darkness floods into the canyon. From above Corrin and Azura a vicious entity makes its presence known:
“I AM THE FORGOTTEN DRAGON. THE BETRAYED KING. THE ENTOMBED GOD. IN THE NAME OF THE KING OF VALLA I SENTENCE YOU TO DEATH.”
From the corner of his eye Corrin sees this entity fire deadly magic at Azura. With only seconds to react Corrin uses his Dragon Fang ability to partially transform into a dragon and grab Azura. He shields her body taking the hit of dark magic. The last thing he hears is Azura’s scream and the mocking laugh of Anankos as the Void steals away the world he desperately fought to liberate from war.
